Prado Regional Park White Wagtail

We went to Prado Regional Park in hopes of finding the White Wagtail that was reported on the "spillway." It took a while to find the spillway, but once we did, it was easy to find the Wagtail. Here's a map that shows where the spillway is:

Once there, we saw many other birds. It was a nice day for a walk. We are glad we are no longer on the east coast.

Back to Lacy Park.: Baby Woodpeckers

Last week at Lacy Park, we saw a pair of nuttall's woodpeckers enter a hole in a tree carrying insects. We also heard baby woodpeckers calling but we never saw them. So, we came back this weekend in hopes that an additional week of growth would result in the babies sticking their heads out to be fed. We were right, and enjoyed the show.

Wheeler Park in Claremont

We stopped by Wheeler Park in Claremont in hopes of seeing purple finches. We had no luck, but the Red-masked Parakeets were interesting and the male and female Nuttall's Woodpeckers were very active.
